Eyelid Surgery

Eyelid Surgery | Forehead Lift | Brow Lift | Panama CityBlepharoplasty can rejuvenate puffy, sagging or tired-looking eyes by removing excess fat, skin and muscle from the upper and lower eyelids. It may be performed for cosmetic reasons or to improve sight by lifting droopy eyelids out of the patient's field of vision. The procedure is usually performed at the Northwest Florida Surgery Center under twilight anesthesia in as little as 45 minutes. Blepharoplasty can be combined with a facelift or BOTOX® treatments to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, crow's feet or dark circles under the eyes.

The procedure is usually performed in an office with local anesthesia and lasts 45 minutes to a few hours depending on how much work is done. Incisions are made along the eyelids in inconspicuous places (in the creases of the upper lids, and just below the lashes on the lower lids). Dr. Kelley removes excess tissue through these incisions and then stitches them closed with fine sutures. In the case that no skin needs to be removed, Dr. Kelley will likely perform a transconjunctival blepharoplasty, where the incision is made inside the lower eyelid and there are no visible scars.

Forehead Lift (Browlift)

Browlifts can revitalize drooping or lined foreheads, helping you look less angry, sad or tired. Using the minimally invasive (endoscopic) method, browlifts involve the removal or alteration of the muscles above the eyes to smooth lines and raise the eyebrows for a more youthful appearance. The procedure is often combined with other operations such as blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) and facelifts to improve the look of the eyes and other areas of the face.

While browlifts are typically performed on patients aged 40-60 to counteract the effects of aging, anyone with lined or inelastic skin on the forehead - whether it's caused by muscle activity or inherited conditions - are eligible. The procedure is usually performed at the Northwest Florida Surgery Center under twilight anesthesia as an outpatient.

Mid-face Lift

A mid-face lift restores youthful vitality to the mid-face, lifting the cheeks and smoothing smile lines to achieve a natural rejuvenated look without the need to undergo a full facelift. Mid-face lifts are ideal for reducing puffiness under the eyes, improving the contour of the upper cheeks, and correcting nasolabial folds. Incisions are small and hidden in the eyelids or in the mouth. Mid-face lifts are often performed in conjunction with lower-lid blepharoplasty to rejuvenate the area around the eyes or with implants to accentuate the cheeks.

Neck Lift

Neck Lift Panama CityThe neck may sag as a result of aging or weight loss, and is often affected before the face. Loose neck muscles can lead to an appearance of bands on the neck or drastic drooping of the skin. A neck lift is a surgical procedure that can smooth and tighten the skin on the neck and provide a more toned and youthful appearance. The results of this procedure offer a drastic improvement to the appearance of the neck and subtle changes to overall appearance. A neck lift may be performed alongside a facelift, or may be performed alone, after which your friends and family may not even realize that a surgical procedure was performed.

A neck lift procedure includes both a cervicoplasty to remove excess skin and a platysmaplasty to remove or alter muscles in the neck. Liposuction can also be used to remove excess fat during a neck lift. This takes one to two hours and is performed using twilight anesthesia at the Northwest Florida Surgery Center.

Chin Augmentation

Although many people do not notice it, a weak chin can significantly affect facial appearance, causing the nose to look larger or the neck to look loose. Chin augmentation is often performed to provide a more balanced facial appearance and create a chin that is stronger, wider or longer, depending on each patient's individual goals. Also known as mentoplasty, chin augmentation is often performed in conjunction with rhinoplasty or other facial procedures in order to achieve optimal results.

During the mentoplasty procedure, an implant made of silicone or another soft, flexible material is inserted into the chin through a small incision underneath. This procedure usually takes about 30 minutes to perform, with patients usually able to return to work and other regular activities within a few days. Chin augmentation is considered a safe procedure with few risks, which can be further reduced by choosing an experienced surgeon to perform your procedure.
