Procedures: Face

QuickLift™

QuickLift Panama CityPatients who wish to rejuvenate the appearance of loose, hanging skin on their face without the general anesthesia and lengthy downtimes associated with a traditional facelift can often achieve their desired results through the QuickLift™ procedure. QuickLift is a less invasive alternative to a facelift that uses smaller, more conspicuous incisions, shorter procedure times and shorter recovery times, while still producing noticeable results.

This procedure is most often performed on men and women between the ages of 40 and 70 who are seeking to improve the appearance of sagging, aged skin caused by a loss of elasticity. Many patients choose to undergo this procedure because they do not yet need or wish to postpone the need for a traditional facelift. Those experiencing loose skin in the lower face, jaw and neck can often achieve significant results from this procedure. Dr. Kelley will determine whether or not this procedure is right for you after evaluating your skin and overall health, and discussing your goals for treatment with you. The QuickLift procedure can also be combined with other treatments to maximize results.

QuickLift Procedure

During the QuickLift procedure, a small S-shaped incision is made in front of and around the ear extending up the hairline. The incision is strategically placed so that it can be easily concealed after the procedure. Dr. Kelley will gently lift and tighten the connective tissue under the skin using purse-string sutures that hold these tissues in place for many years to come. Treatment is customized for each individual patient to produce noticeable results that do not completely alter the person's appearance. Once the desired changes have been made, the surgeon will remove any redundant skin and close the incision with sutures.

This procedure is performed on an outpatient basis requiring only twilight sedation, and usually takes one to two hours, depending on the extent of correction required.

Recovery from QuickLift

After the QuickLift procedure, patients may experience mild pain, swelling and bruising for one to two weeks. Dr. Kelley may prescribe you with pain medication, but most patients find relief using over-the-counter pain relievers such as Tylenol. Patients will usually feel comfortable socially within two weeks following surgery. Dr. Kelley will see you in the office the day after the procedure in order to evaluate your results and the recovery process.

Results of QuickLift

QuickLift Panama CityThe results of the QuickLift procedure vary from person to person, but most are able to achieve dramatic, yet natural-looking results that can help them look younger. Unlike the pulled back appearance of a traditional facelift, the QuickLift elevates the entire lower face and creates a more defined jaw line.

Despite these effective results, it is important for patients to realize that the results of the QuickLift procedure are not permanent, and will not make them immune to the normal aging process. However, patients will continue to look younger than they would have after this procedure.

Risks of QuickLift

While QuickLift is considered safe for most patients, there are certain risks associated with any surgical procedure, such as swelling, bleeding, infection and scarring. These risks are considered rare, and can be further reduced by choosing an experienced surgeon to perform your procedure and by following your surgeon’s instructions before and after your treatment.
