What wonderful life experiences I’ve had! The opportunity to daily meet fascinating patients that honor me with their request for evaluation and whatever assistance I might be able to provide. Whether it’s highly focused, state-of-the art surgery or compassionate understanding-such a gift God has given me.
This midwest farm boy passed from the University of Illinois undergraduate study, through Loyola Medical School, onto the University of Illinois General Surgery Residency, and then being accepted into Plastic Surgery Residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School. Best of all I was able to first introduce the specialty of Plastic Surgery to Panama City, Florida!
Along the way I’ve spent three months at Sick Children’s Hospital in London, England. There I was able early on to decide between Pediatric vs Plastic Surgery. At the end of my Plastic Surgery Residency, I would return one more time for 6 months to Great Britain- where Plastic Surgery was born-to their premier Plastic Surgery Unit at Canniesburn at Glasgow, Scotland.
I have been blessed with 6 very special children, with a wife in heaven, and now a wonderful wife that has made earth feel like heaven. They have always allowed the practice of medicine to be my “first love.”
